We’re taking on the ‘Live Below the Line’ challenge

Surviving on £1 per day may seem an impossible task but for 1.2 billion people around the world, it’s reality. Shining a light on those living below the extreme poverty line, Vicky Williams, CEO and Laura Stanley, Head of Marketing have put themselves forward to ‘live below the line’.

Along with colleagues from Emerald Publishing – Harriet Bell, Marketing Director and Simon Cox, Finance Director – Vicky and Laura will each have an allowance of £1-a-day to cover all food and drink across 5 days.

Taking on the challenge from 10th – 14th October, the team of four are raising funds for Emerald Group’s nominated charity, Plan International UK. The global charity works with children in the world’s poorest countries to help them build a better future.

We want to encourage everyone to think differently about hunger and the choices that we all make every day. While there is enough food in the world for everyone, it is a shocking fact that 1 in 9 people will go to bed hungry tonight.
